Simpson Hall Miller pattern

Postby K9pal » Sat Feb 27, 2010 1:58 pm

Please help me identify these two pieces. The marks are identical on the reverse of each piece, indicating they are Simpson Hall Miller. Although the image on each one is slightly different, I think they may actually be the same pattern. And if anyone knows what the 'pick' was used for, I'd appreciate that too. Thanks!

Walnut picker

Postby silverport » Sun Feb 28, 2010 12:19 am

Hello

Shown picker is a nuts picker. Especially for walnut; to get nuts contents out of sometimes very rugged nut shells.

Kind regards silverport

The silverplate pattern is Medallion, originally introduced by Hall & Elton in 1867, the nut pick is the beaded variation.

Thank you both! I've looked online and through every book I could find, and wasn't able to find this pattern.
