Need help identifying sterling silver set

Postby marciwuttke » Thu Nov 27, 2008 12:28 pm

Funny how a simple question like "I wonder who made Grandma's sterling silverware set" can result in 3 hours of research and a message board post. The second picture is my best effort to recreate the markings on the back, as best I can (even with magnification it was very hard to see)

Hello and welcome.

Looks like a set of marks used by the Watson Company.

Pattern is Victoria (New), introduced by Watson in 1900, was reintroduced as Lady Windsor by Wallace in 1957 shortly after they acquired Watson.
