IF I COULD FIGURE OUT THE MANUFACTURER'S MARK

THEN I COULD BE SURE IT IS STERLING

I HAD TO USE A TEN POWER LENS TO SEE THEN A MAGNIFYING GLASS TO SEE MARK

I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH IT

I COULD SEE INSIDE EACH OF THE THREE BLOCKS: T, THEN WHAT LOOKS LIKE A HAND HOLDING LIGHTING, THEN A BIRD'S HEAD, BEAK FACING LEFT, THIS IS R-E-A-L-Y TINY

DO YOU WANT ME TO SEND THE SPOON TO YOU?

No, please don't, already up to my eyeballs in them. Just wanted to know if it was marked "sterling", but since you described the mark I was able to identify it as a silverplate mark used by Towle Silversmiths. Having the name should allow someone else to identify the pattern fairly easily.

Regards, Tom

ps. please don't type in all CAPS, all lower case letters are preferred, thanks

Not at all, what I know is a drop in the bucket, I just enjoy the "hunt". The moment when I identify a manufacturer or a pattern is like when you fit the last piece of a puzzle. Satisfying.
