Navajo souvenir spoon

Postby dragonflywink » Sun Dec 09, 2007 8:25 pm

Throwing this piece from my collection in just because this forum seldom sees anything but jewelry (not that there's anything wrong with that). This is a large heavy Navajo-made teaspoon with an owl handle and a Yei spirit in the bowl, believe it dates to right around 1920. The entire decoration is done with small iron stamps, even the straight lines and fine feathery details.

Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for sharing this, I've always had a soft spot for these. Here are a couple more examples.
