star-D-eagle-premium : Coin Silver Spoon

Post by imnideit »

Hi, I have a star D eagle mystery mark, then marked Premium.
Anyone know the mark?
Click on images to make them larger, hopefully.
Thanks,
Tom

I 'google'd it and found that someone attributed it to Norton/Seymour group from Syracuse, NY, c. 1849-60.
Do we think that is correct?
Thanks,
Tom

Late note: On searching for information concerning Johnson & Godley (Albany) a record came up on Worthpoint for an item marked [Eagle] [D] [Star] and apparently the Johnson & Godley name spelled out as a mark rather than the <J&G> stamp or the [R. Godley] box stamp. (I did not check the photos for the listing due to restricted access.)
