This little spreader is with the coin silver spoons already mentioned. Can't find i.d. for the mark.

Hello.
I believe that mark was used by James S. Vancourt, New York City.
His shop was next door to Albert Cole's factory.

According to Dorothy Rainwater's book, from 1848 to 1852 James Vancourt was partners with William L. Coles, Albert Cole's nephew.
Their mark was similar, but with C&V in the middle.

James Vancourt worked independently before and after this partnership.
Not sure when this mark was used.

Pat.
