My books show a D.M. Tyler in Boston, Massachusetts.

David M. Tyler, the Boston goldsmith and jeweler, drops from sight after the 1810 city directory; no Tyler's of an appropriate trade are listed there into the 1880's. This fork is much to late to be his work.

I have no idea how good a fit this is, but there was David M Tyler listed as a jeweler in Ipswich, Massachusetts in 1870.
