Johnson & Godley: Additional Mark

Three J&G table/place spoons having standard marks, but including a mark that appears to be rubbed out. It sits left of the maker mark and seems to begin "H.S" followed by a blanked space which resumes as "AGUE" (like the end of Montague or Teague). The letters are not in a reserve or cartouche, but openly stamped. I'm guessing it may be a retailer, but wonder if J&G may have destroyed the mark themselves for some reason, as their own mark is clearly intact.

Remarkably, these letters of the additional mark appear similar to that of Hezekiah S. Sprague of Ohio. With that, here is an SMP thread on a Sprague (rubbed too) with the inclusion of the word "Premium": https://www.smpub.com/ubb/Forum19/HTML/000412.html

Here is a thread referring to the "Premium" mark in association with pseudo marks that also turn up on a J&G sample. Is this a train of evidence linking J&G to Sprague as a supplier source?

Finally, there is a listing for a piece having the marks [Eagle] ["D"] [Star] just before "H.S.Sprague" with no surrounding reserve or cartouche. (An alternative mark not noted by primary sources.) This would seem to be a conclusive set of marks to link these firms, and the Sprague family all come from New York where connections could be established.
