Just hoping someone might recognize the mark on this spoon and have some information to pass on. Thank you in advance.

There is a Cornelius Vannice listed in the 1850 US Federal Census in New Orleans, Louisiana as a watchmaker and born in Ohio in about 1809. He's also listed in early 1850's New Orleans City Directories. And there is a Cornelius Vannice listed in the 1880 US Federal Census in Cincinnati, Ohio as a silversmith and also born about 1809 in Ohio.

Its a mess, but there is a name change from Van Nuys to Van Nice that is also being spelled as Vannice. Jeweler trade family moving from N.J to Kentucky, not sure 'bout Ohio connections. Here's Abraham J. Van Nice (coming up elsewhere as Vannice): http://www.americansilversmiths.org/mak ... 257238.htm
