Another Knife Makers Marks are a Mystery

Post by Rhody »

Good evening from Rhode Island!

I have another knife with marks I cannot identify and not for a lack of searching.
The knife measures 8" long and weighs 57g.

Any assistance or hints are greatly appreciated.

Thanks wev. I have several Albert Coles pieces but all have the AC in the diamond. Is your example a variation?

In addition to his own retail operations, Cole was a major supplier of wholesale silver goods pretty much across the country. This is one of several wholesale marks his factory used. Without a countermark, there is no way of telling who might retailed the piece.

Thank you so much! I’ll start searching for a resource on wholesale marks.
Be safe. Stay healthy!
