Origin of a ladle

Hi,

I have a big silver ladle in fiddle pattern, for which I cannot identify the origin.

Here is the ladle:

And here are the marks :

The 'c' letter looks like a letter date, the eagle like a town mark, then there is a very small illegible mark, then the name (struck twice) which could be BEN ....... CALDWELL.

Could anyone help for the identification ?

That might be Bennett & Caldwell. James Emmett Caldwell opened his silversmiths shop in 1839 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvannia. From roughly 1842 to 1848 he had a partner and the firms name was Bennett & Caldwell. Since then the company has been known as J.E. Caldwell.
