Silver spoons- Georgian?-Sterling- J.A.C. hallmarks

Hello,
Please help identify this maker and confirm that the spoons are infact George III. The head on the duty mark seems to face the opposite direction than those listed.

Don't have access to any further information at the moment, but that is a set of pseudo or fake hallmarks on your spoon. It is American.

I’ve seen the same psuedo marks with the lion and sideways ‘C’ with ‘John A Cole’ stamped so it’s a safe bet that’s the maker.

He was working in New York circa 1840-50’s

New York City Directories concur with your date range. He is listed in the 1850 U S Federal Census for Jersey City, New Jersey as a spoon and fork manufacturer aged about 42 years and died in Jersey City in 1860.
