London Date Mark?

I am having a tough time understanding the marking on these spoons, is the shield with an "s" inside the date mark for London 1896 or is it something else? In addition the silversmith marks are puzzling, if you turn the marks 180 degrees it looks like it spell RICO??
Any ideas as to date and origin??

There is NO full set of marks for London silver. Spoons are most likely silver-plated.

The style and the engraving all point to Coin Silver, and 'COIN' is likely the mark struck.

The spoons are made of thin gauge silver which leads me to believe they are not plated, perhaps they are not British?

No, not British, definitely American. Probably around the mid 19th century.

It is a journeyman's mark associated with Joseph Seymour's wholesale manufacturing firm.
