Coin silver Spoon ID ??

Postby ptc » Fri Aug 08, 2014 7:54 pm

I have a coin silver spoon monogramed and dated 1814. It has two hallmark stamps: The first is LO on the back, bottom left and the second is AE over a W (W is as wide as the AE above it) which appears on the back, bottom right. The letter style appears to be that of Andrew Ellicott Warner but I've only seen his hallmark as AEWarner or AEW, never as AE over W.

Any thoughts on this? This has been a seven year mystery to me and any help would be appreciated.

I would send pictures but have no idea how to do so. I could email them. Sorry for my lack of posting knowledge.

Regards in advance.

PS: GREAT forum, very helpful in identifying items.

Hi ~ welcome to the forums.

You will need to post pictures of the marks and it's useful to post the item too. Please see:
