J. Smart = John Smart, Philadelphia?

I have 6 fruit spoons with this mark for J. Smart. I am having trouble identifying the maker. Kovels has a John Smart (c.1839-1850), Philadelphia, with no illustration of the mark. I cannot find any other reference in Rainwater, Ensko, Green, or Wiler, nor in this forum. Admittedly, my editions are quite old (they were my grandfather's) but I still come up empty with online searches. Can anyone help? Thanks.
