1852 Presentation Pitcher

Postby TNSkippy » Thu Jan 05, 2012 9:10 pm

I have had no luck identifying the group that presented this pitcher to John W Burns or him. Maybe the mark on the bottom is a maker's mark or a mfg dimple? If it is a mark, that may help confirm a location. My Burns family lived in the Rochester, Monroe, NY area as early as 1838 until the 1980s. The front inscription:

Presented to
John W Burns
by the
Duffy Guard
Nov 23
1852

This is my first post, hope I did the photos correctly.

That looks like a centering mark.
