Coin Brandy Warmer ?Thomas Revere

Postby rnevling » Wed Jan 21, 2009 8:15 pm

This little brandy warmer has a 2 1/4 inch opening and is 6 inches long including the handle. The mark is worn at it's base but appears to be TR but I suppose could be TP or even something else. I have done as much searching and comparing as I can but I am limited with my printed material at home. The genealogy site that shows a mark closest to this is Thomas Revere but they only have one mark and no alternates. I wondered if anyone knew of alternates of his that were closer to this or knew of another mark that was comparable. It is hard to tell in the picture but there is a small leg coming down from the top of the "P" which is very straight and not conducive to being a B. This is my first post although I refer here often for info. so I hope I have done this correctly. Thanks Roger

This is definitely not the mark of Thomas Revere; his lettering was very thin and distinctive. This does appear to me to be a TP; I will look through my source books to see if I can find anything.
