Another piece of early San Francisco (but not pre-1860) coin silver, prompting the question yet again, who made what? This spoon is fashioned in what is identified as the Olympic pattern of 1875 by Vanderslice, per the "Silver In The Golden State" text, p.105. However, the spoon bowl shows the trade mark "satin" finish (orange peel texture) of Schulz & Fischer, whose mark is on the stem underside. So I'm guessing it was actually made by Schulz & Fischer in a design cribbed from Vanderslice, as opposed to made by Vanderslice and retailed by Schulz and Fischer. Or perhaps Vanderslice stole the pattern from Schulz & Fischer? Any opinions? TIA!
