Hi there,

I have a silver cigarette case with an unusual hallmark which I believe is Arabic.

After a little research I found a similar post on this forum with an almost identical hallmark which was identified to read "Brunei" in arabic, however I have a friend who knows Arabic and he said it makes no sense to him and that it may be Persian?

Hopefully someone on here can shed some light on this mystery.

Definitely Brunei.

It is not an Arabic word so it is imaginable that an Arabic speaker might not recognize it. If you google "silver marks Brunei" and look at images you may come across a box which has the identical markings including the letters AM
