Just curious if anyone knows this Chinese mark on a buckle (I think this is probably actually half a buckle). Thank you for considering.

Better still, can anyone explain the No. XX maker scheme in Chinese silver? Was each maker assigned a number? Is the scheme recorded somewhere?

Spotted another one of these numeric marks. I'll be interested if someone can explain this scheme.
