Hi Daco,
Welcome to the Forum.
Correct, Egypt, post 1946, not sure about the city, the mark is worn, but looks to me like Cairo or Alexandria 900/1000.
Your picture is upside down.

Given the latest info I think it would be a call between Cairo and Beni Souef.
