middle east tray can you identify where it is from

Can anyone please tell me anything about this tray.
It belonged to my grandfather who spent alot of time in the middle east.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

there are no marks on the tray

We examinied it very closely and could find no marks at all.

Hi,
I am not at all sure, but at a glance, it has much in common with a lot of 20th century pieces I've seen from Iran.
