Hi everyone,
New to the forum, but hoping you can help me with some detective work. I have been told the brooch is from St Petersburg circa 1900, but since I have very limited knowledge of these things, I would appreciate any help or pointers.

Picture is here, it's the best I can do, sorry.

P.S. the piece is gold framing malachite.

I should add that I can add more photos if you think it would be helpful.
Cheers,

As you can see, the malachite is sadly quite damaged, but I am reluctant to replace it since it adds a certain wabi-sabi (to me that is)

Thanks for the welcome, by the way. I happened to be in Mayfair, London today and was able to have a nice long chat with the good people at Wartski.
They couldn't immediately recognize the maker's mark, but have referred me to their specialist in antique Russian jewelry. I'll be emailing him tonight to see if he can help shed some light on it.

The mark wasn't in the one book on Russian marks that they had in the shop, but it was not all that comprehensive so I'm still hopeful.
