Identify Russian Gold Ring Maker

Postby Slate » Sun Sep 29, 2013 7:21 pm

Hi,

Is anyone able to help identify the maker of this ring?
I've looked around and can't find anything helpful at all. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks!

Hi welcome to the forum.

Russian domestic hallmark used 1908-1926; so called shovel shaped and used for gold/silver items weighing less than 8.53 grams and a three-element inclusive mark showing; the regional assay office, the national core image and standard of fineness. The Greek letter delta; regional assay office for Moscow, indicating 56 zolotniks or 14K gold.
BC could be for; Vasily Sikachev, Moscow, 1891-1917 but we better wait for Qrt.S or other Russian contributor to deny or confirm.

Oel.

Thanks oel, much appreciated :)

I guess I'll have to find a local expert to inspect to finalise.
Also would love input from anyone else :)
