Fob Chain Stamp

Postby johnnydiamond » Fri Feb 15, 2013 5:41 pm

Hi all,
First time here. Great site. Can anyone provide any information on this hallmark. It's not that well formed and worn but to me looks like an animal with a lizard like tail but a short bear like head.

Here's a link http://www.flickr.com/photos/diamondsdi ... hotostream

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

I feel that's more likely to be a maker's mark rather than a hallmark. As it 9ct., not a popular standard around the world, and not 9kt., then it maybe of colonial origin. The animal appears to be a beaver, perhaps Canadian?

Trev.
