»B VA« = Import mark for items in Gold (B = Prague)
Hello »fraggle45«
Welcome to the Forum.
The from you shown mark is the import mark of the Austro-Hungary Empire; for items, made from Gold alloy's of minimum fineness of 580-1,000. An Austrian indication on fineness wasn’t struck; and lower finenesses as 580-1,000 aren't marked.
This mark was in force 1872-1901. The little letter B (on the left side of the mark) stands for the Assay Office of Prague. For Prague itself actually don't exist a complete register of marks. In this case it's irrelevant, because the item was made other were.
