Need help identifying a mark on a ring

Postby wiredmom » Sat Aug 06, 2005 4:24 pm

I inherited a ring from my grandmother. It's been in the family for probably 100 years. I think it's silver.

On the inside it has inscribed "Sterling", and under it a symbol best described as a "U" with an arrow through it.

<--U--<

I'm sorry, but I wasn't able to get a good picture of it. I'll have to play with the digital camera a bit and see if I can get a decent picture.

Anyone have any ideas what that means?

Greetings,
Search for UNCAS, they used a hallmark similar to the one you are describing
