Polish Amber Necklace- Need info on Polish Marks

Postby Deelish » Wed Jun 21, 2006 12:00 am

I have had this for 14 years but only just discovered the marks as they are tiny. The Mark is of two stamps one with the w for Warsaw then ladies head facing towards a 3. The other mark appears to be a 'G' on a slight slant. The marks are not visable without a loupe and they are stamped on the wire catch. Can anyone help me with the year and what the 'G' would be?

Hello, the ladie's head with the '3' is the Polish guarantee mark for 800/1000 parts silver. It was introduced in 1963. The G is probably the maker. Best wishes, Bahner
