Help ID Georgian? or Victorian? Brooch

Postby G. Harris » Wed May 24, 2006 11:19 am

Hi All, I don't know how to upload Pix but could some possible help ID'ing this mark from my description. I believe this Brooch is Georgian but might also be early Victorian based on the design. The frame is Silver and has a neo classic looks to it with a white Glass or White Quartz center with a silver floral design on the crystal. I tested it and it is positive for min of .925 may be higher. Now to the mark there is a very distint impression of what looks link a sword or a torch there is 2 small gloobs near the top and in the middle towards the tip. The mark has a defined indent formed around the it. There is no other marks on the piece. I had an apprasier look at it and he did not recognize it but gave me the Old Silver Marks book to look thru. The only thing I found that was remotely close was from the 1500's but that is impossible based on the design.

Thanks in advance
