Maker's mark on silver necklace

Postby lulu650 » Thu Dec 22, 2011 9:25 am

I have a silver filigree necklace circa 1930s bought in England. There is a clear mark on the back showing UUH but the silver mark on the clasp is unreadable. Anyone have any ideas on country of origin or date?
I have a photo on photobucket but still trying to work out how to upload it here

Great! worked it out!

And the link next to the clasp but I found it impossible to read

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

The mark looks like '800' to me (upside down on your image), 800/1000, a popular standard in several Europeon countries.

Thanks for the very quick reply Trev. And very obvious now you've pointed it out. Happy New Year!
