Please ID this Hallmark

Postby Orzula » Wed Feb 16, 2011 7:43 pm

My last post disappeared so I hope I'm not doing anything wrong by posting this - please can anyone tell me something about this Hallmark? This necklace was a gift from my father and I'm just curious about it. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

The 925 and Scales mark indicates that your piece was hallmarked by one of the countries that is part of the Europeon Hallmarking Convention, thus making this piece post 1975.

We will need to see a better close up image of the other marks to tell you more.

Thank you Trevor,

I tried to take a better picture but unfortunately can't. I've zoomed in on the Hallmark and it seems to say
'x p r'.

I hope that is of help.

kind regards.

Hi,

Try drawing what you see, and photograph that. Please be sure to include the mark on the righthand side of the scales mark.

I'll wait until my daughter comes home and ask her to (try) to get a better close-up. She took the original photos and I've tried this morning but not getting anywhere. I'll post some new photos later. Thank you very much for your help so far.

Kind regards
