Hi all,
I am trying to findout some details about a cigarette box.
It appears to me that the box is Silver or Silver-plated but I am not sure.
What I am sure of :
The "lock" of the box is on the right, and the box pops open automatically when lock is pushed, the when closed again, it opens the lighter on top.
It was offered as a present to a Frenchman by his wife, but in Vienna, so I assume the object is either french or Austrian. It was Offered in 1946 (there is an engraved dedication that says "From XX to XXX, Vienna 1946" inside the case).
The only visible marks are :
- On TOP of lighter's lid is a 3 mm hallmark : regular hexagon with intertwined letters "TCW" (T on top, C mingled with other letters, W on bottom, all letters shaped and stylized in "modern style" (like 1930's) to fill the hexagon).
- On the in-side of the left part when opened : "D.R. PAT. u . WELTP. ANGEM." which I suppose is some kind of patent ?
I hope this is enough details to put me on the way... If not I may add a photo but the hallmark is so small...
Thanks in advance !!
