I have a cake plate that was given to me by an elderly neighbour and I am having trouble finding what the markings mean. It has the word Renown in scripted writng and EPNS A1 stamped on the bottom. I know what epns is but can't find out about the rest. Can anyone help?

"Renown" may have been the design, or the maker. Not sure. The "A1" relates to the (real or claimed) quality/thickness of the plating.
