Help ID Hallmark - silver on copper footed serving tray

Postby blueizme » Tue Jun 26, 2007 9:15 pm

This piece has been in my family many many years and those who knew the history of it have passed. I have no knowledge of silver wares but have searched as many Hallmarks I can possibly find with no luck. On bottom of tray the engravings contain 4 squares (not spaced apart) and in each box is either a picture or letter. The letters appear to be calligraphy style.

From left to right the boxes contain a cat (not male lion mane, but looks like a cat); letter P; letter S; and a crown with 5 points. Below the engraved squares with pictures and letters, the words 'Silver on Copper' are engraved. Any help in this regard is much appreciated. Many thanks!

Hi Blue,

Did you ever find any information regarding your set? I just acquired one with the same markings; all unidentifiable up to this point. Any information you've come across would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mar
