Anyone ever heard of....

...the maker "HOTEL"? Or if this is even silver. I've never heard of 86.0 Silver but there's probably alot that I've never heard of. This is on a large serving platter for a ship called the M.S. Nieuw Amsterdam.

Hello, "WMF Hotel" is a production line of the German WMF company (the WMF mark is incompletely struck here). As the name suggests, its products were (and are) for hotels, restaurants etc. The "86" is not for silver (Your object is either plate or stainless steel), but for it's capacity (I am not sure about the correct word here). Best wishes, Bahner
