need help please on Sheffield markings on tray

Postby kimisa » Wed May 02, 2007 10:48 pm

I posted this on photo-shy but I think I figured out how to post a photo so hope this works. I previewed it and know the photo is large but I have tried and tried and can't make it smaller. Sorry I have received some information that this large siilver tray with grapes and vines may be silverplate and maybe British, but not positive and wanting to know if it would be British or not and if anyone would know the maker. Thank you everyone for any help. :)

I believe that set of marks was used by an American company.
We often see the word sheffield on American silverplate marks.
E. & J. Bass, New York City. In business roughly from 1890 to 1930.
