german flatware marked "silber 100" allegedly pre

Postby summerlaw » Tue May 01, 2007 8:06 pm

Thank you in advance for helping to confirm whether flatware marked "silber 100" and allegedly from pre WWI era is silverplate or sterling. I apologize for no pictures -- I'm a technosaur and just can't manage digital photography. I added this inquiry to another thread about German silverplate discussing marks "84" and "90" but heard nothing and am unsure whether rationale for those marks applies here. I appreciate any help you can give.

Hello, the 100 on plated German flatware was introduced around 1930, so the pieces are not earlier than that, possibly later. One can also find the 100 on pieces made after 1945. Best wishes, Bahner
