Postby cnrrus » Sun Mar 25, 2007 3:56 am

I have a silverplate tea service with the marks E F 2 stars N S . below is a 5 digit number.
Does anyone have any info on this?

I can't tell you the maker, but it's likely that the F is actually a P, in which case the initials stand for Electroplated Nickel Silver.

Agree that the letters are probably EP and NS.
Sounds similar to a silverplate mark used by Barker Brothers of Birmingham England.
However, Barker Brother's mark had three stars.
I wonder if the top star on your mark was worn away?

That's exactly what it looks like! I need to look at the mark when I get home, but I am pretty sure. My Grandfather brought it home from the Silver vaults in England back in the 40's. Do the marks tell me the age?
Thanks!

Don't have any info on the dates this mark was used.
Possibly mid 20th century.

Pat.
