Hi Members
Does anyone know this markers mark on brass inlaid tobacco box?
It looks like the letter W on top of the same letter ,or maybe M on top ,with the letter I in the middle,
my guess it may be a German company (not sure)

Regards Guido.

Hi Members
I have discovered the maker of the box, posting info for others that may be interested.

The mark stands for "Munchener Intarsia Werke" MIW.
1886 Foundation of Luppe+Heibronner OHG by Otto Luppe and Milton Douglas Heibronner.
The main products then were chemically etched brass smoking accessories such as decorated ash trays ,smoking tables, cigar boxes and also etched brass inlays for furniture.

In 1895 the name was expanded by the addition "Metall Intarsia Werke"
had sales offices in Prague,St Petersburg,Brussels ,Paris ,London.
The company is now called Demmel AG (Demmel Gruppe)
