Reed & Barton Tea Set Date of Manufacture

Post by TeaSetInquirer »

The silver plate pattern is Reed & Barton "Sierra Engraved." The bottom is stamped No. 3693. I am seeking the date of manufacture. If any further history specific to this pattern is available, it would be greatly appreciated (beyond the Reed & Barton company general history readily available online). I contacted Lenox, the company that purchased Reed & Barton in bankruptcy, but Lenox purchased only the tangible assets. Lenox is unable to respond questions regarding Reed & Barton pattern history, as that information was not included in their acquisition of Reed & Barton. https://images.app.goo.gl/fhec1ws24H5z7JNQ7

My grandmother gifted me this Reed & Barton Sierra Engraved Silverplate Tea Set. I want to give it to my son as a gift for his wedding since he knew his great-grandmother and they are tea drinkers. They are all about the history of everything as his fiance is getting a Ph.D. from Harvard in history. I would be honored and grateful for any assistance. I also sincerely apologize for my prior posting errors as computer wizardry is not my strong suit.
