Need help identifying these marks

I've been researching silver marks for the last two hours and can't find much about these! What's confusing me is that they're not in the order that they are when I found these marks online, and the word "sheffield" stamped into the pot isn't found anywhere apparently! Could someone PLEASE help me identify this item (The only thing I can figure is that it was made in Sheffield). Is it sterling silver? Is it old? (This is either a tea or coffee pot, btw.) Thanks in advance!!

Yes you would think that having Sheffield stamped on the pot would mean it was made there...afraid not. Welcome to the wonderful world of silver marking.

Your pot was made by the US company of E & J Bass, New York. see here:

Why the Sheffield mark? The pot could be made using the Sheffield plate process which consists of a copper sheet sandwiched between two sheets of silver but this is not very likely. A number of US companies stamped the name Sheffield purely as a marketing tool because Sheffield was renowned for good quality silver and plate.

Date wise you will note that the company was in business from 1890 to circa 1930.

Thank you SO much for your very helpful reply! I assumed with the Sheffield stamp and the lion stamp that it was English silver. I guess not. Thanks again!! :)
