Need Help Identifying Gero Makers Mark & Production Letter

Post by ilustre »

Hi,

I am new to the forum and need an experts help in identifying the designer hallmark and production date of my gero 202 piece Holland flatware set? I know that gero is the manufacturer and the number 90 means plated silver.
I cannot find any gero designers hallmark online like mine. I know the set is really old. Any help would be great.

UPDATE: I think the "R" symbol means it was made in 1927. If someone can verify this, that would be great. I still need to know what the first SD or DS or ?? symbol means and who made these?

Thank you!

I figured it out. It's made by designer Dick Simonis who worked for Gero as a full time designer for gero from 1944 until 1974
