identify mark on grape stand

Postby aimeetalbot » Sat Jul 29, 2006 8:24 pm

Hello,

Unfortunately I don't have an overall photo of the grape stand attached to this mark. The owner believed it to be Gorham, but the marks are not Gorham. The owner had a photo of a Gorham grape stand that looked like tree branches which was similar to this piece. I believe this is a reproduction silverplate piece, but I just wanted to see if anyone could confirm my suspicions or if someone knew the mark and its origination and age.

Thanks for your help.

The mark on your stand looks like an English silverplate mark to me. Probably used by Thomas Latham & Ernest Morton, Birmingham, England.
