ELKINGTON MASON & CO. DATE NEEDED

I have an Elkington Mason & Co silverplate teapot that is from 1842-1864. There is a small diamond-shaped hallmark with the letter X inside. I was told that the letter should pinpoint an exact year. Can anyone assist me?

I believe the X in a diamond is for 1862. Here's a site where you can double check that.
