Australian spoon dug out of the ground

Old gold area, hence I first asked on a related forum but was directed here.

I have had a look though the markings on the site here and not found a match,

Please see the link below for picture, hard to make out.

Hi Pixulator,

Welcome to the Forum.

I think your image is upside down, one of the marks appears to be a crown. All that I can add is that the fact that a crown is present in the marks, would date the spoon to pre-1897, as after that date such a device was outlawed on plated wares.

Thanks Trev,

I'm working on taking a clearer image but most of the marks are gone. So guess it was silver plated at one point and this has all corroded off the surface, leaving a glittery gold like finish brass?

Oh an I forgot, if your not familiar with Victorian gold history, it would most likely be either English or Chinese.
