Silver/plate Salver T.M & number any help please

Postby sienna » Sun Sep 28, 2014 5:05 am

Hello, I would appreciate any help people can offer in identifying whether a silver salver I have is silver plate - as I suspect. I'd be generally interested in knowing age & maker etc. I have identified that the initials are T.W, which might mean it is from a Newcastle silversmith, but am confused about the rest of the marks, including the numbers. Unfortunately the hallmarks an completely blurred and you can only see an outline.
Can anyone help...:

Hi Sienna,

Welcome to the Forum,

It's plated. The mark is that of Thomas White of Sheffield.

The numbers would refer to an internal pattern/batch/order number.
