kneeling lions

Postby tnekm » Thu Jan 23, 2014 11:57 pm

I have a large heavy silver serving tray, it has the following symbols on the back
kneeling lion, F, seahorse? or horses head with feathers, E, kneeling lion (again)

Does anyone know this one and dates?

thanks

Hi
I hope this is correct.
I can not give a picture of the item the silver tray is too big for my scanner.
Instead of kneeling lions they are more like down on one knee lions or genuflecting lions. The tails look clubbed and the heads are thrown back with tongues out and front legs are apart. as are hind ones.
In between the lions look like a F and also a D or G or I or L or M and also the symbols from Theodore B Starr (but not quite)
The serving tray has handles and feet and exceeding heavy.
Thanks for any input and sorry I could not give two pictures.
