J.S. Salt Spoon

Postby paulh » Sat Sep 28, 2013 1:03 pm

Can anyone help me with this mark. It is on a fiddle salt spoon, which appears to be silver or very good N.S.

Thanks.

Paul.

Hi Paul,

I've found the left hand side 'JS' mark. It appears to be a match for John Smallwood, a close plater working at Sheffield in the 1820's-1830's.

Thanks Trev. That would make sense. The colour is all wrong for electroplate.
Paul.
