albany silverplate co. pickle castor

Postby saltezmom » Wed Apr 05, 2006 10:18 am

I recently purchased a pickle castor. The bottom of the castor has albany silverplate co. 5306 and it also has what appears to be a thunderbird? symbol. That is all that I can distinguish. Can anyone help me with the time period of this peice? Thank you

There was an Albany Silver Plate Company in the late 1800's. They merged with the Barbour Silver Company in the 1890's. In 1898 Barbour Silver became part of International Silver. International Silver continued to use the Albany Silver Plate trademark, probably into the 1930's.
