Britainoid silver plate? Trying to help a friend

Postby faeriequeen » Fri Mar 03, 2006 3:51 am

A friend of mine who is in the trade had someone come in to her shop with what she said was a beautiful silverplated coffee and tea set, but could not identify the mark. I told her I'd give it a try. I haven't seen it myself yet, but here's what she said:

It's marked Britainoid, has what looks like a clover with a star in each section, marked E.P. and has a shield with "BB" over "SL" inside of it. By her description, this is an extremely ornate set, very figural. Any help out there? From one post I read it might be French?

I just found this site and I have some of my own to put up as soon as I get this solved. Thanks in advance.

For everyone who took a look, thank you. I'm trying to see if I can get photos of the pieces and marks. If I can I'll repost. Thanks again for looking.
